Again in 2012, the cultural foundation of the Free State of Saxony acquired contemporary art works. Like no other state, Saxony has been annually supporting artists living and working in the Free State since 1992. An independent committee consisting of art experts and artists recommends the acquisitions. The art works have always been designed to become property of the collection of the Art Fund, where they are made accessible to the public in exhibitions and are lent to museums and public institutions. For the second time, the Art Fund presents a selection of the current new acquisitions at the Representation of the Free State of Saxony to the Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin.
Artists whose works are on view include Yasmin Alt, Jens Besser, Laura Bielau, Sven Braun, Annedore Dietze, Thomas Femming, Jay Gard, Matthias Hamann, Helene Heyder, Sara Hoppe, Eduard Klein, Claudia Kleiner, Thomas Moecker, Jana Morgenstern, Bastian Muhr, Juliana Ortiz, Julius Popp, Jens Schubert, André Schulze, Anija Seedler and Klaus-Dieter Weber.
